Functional Bodywork Therapy
What This Therapy Is For
Functional Bodywork Therapy is for people who want to resolve chronic tension, improve posture and mobility, and build a body that works better in everyday life and training — not just feel temporary relief. This 1:1 work focuses on how your body functions as a whole system: how you move, how load is distributed, where tension accumulates, and where weakness limits movement and performance. The goal is long-term change in body function, not a one-off massage effect.
Instead of working only where it hurts, I identify why tension or pain keeps returning.I look for:
• movement restrictions
• weak or overloaded areas
• postural imbalances
• dysfunctional movement patternsBy addressing root causes, this approach helps restore balance, improve posture, and increase freedom of movement.
Each session is crafted for you and adapted to your body’s current state, goals, and capacity.Sessions take place:
• on a massage table in a private treatment room in London Queen’s Park, or
• on a high-quality floor mat at your home. You can choose between:
• Deep work — for faster, more noticeable structural and functional changes
• Gentle work — for a slower, more gradual transformation, suitable for sensitive or overloaded bodies. Both options are equally intentional and tailored — the difference is intensity, not quality.
Deep Neck & Jaw Release (Optional)
Unlike standard massage, I offer focused work on:
• the front and back of the neck
• the jaw and surrounding structuresThese areas often hold deep, chronic tension that affects posture, breathing, and overall comfort but is commonly overlooked. This work can significantly improve mobility, reduce tension-related symptoms, and support deeper full-body change.
It can be requested separately or integrated into a full-body session.
This work may help you:
• Improve joint mobility and flexibility
• Reduce muscle tension, pain, and stress
• Restore postural balance
• Improve sleep and overall wellbeing
• Support sports recovery and physical performance
• Build functional strength
• Recover movement quality after injury
• Develop better body awareness and control
This therapy is suitable for:
• Physically active people and athletes
• Individuals experiencing chronic tension, stiffness, or postural issues
• People recovering from injuries or movement limitations
• Clients looking for a deep, personalised, hands-on approach, not a generic massage
• Anyone interested in understanding how their body moves and functions
Sessions may include:
• Sports Massage, Thai massage, Acupressure, Trigger point, and Deep tissue techniques
• Strengthening and mobility/flexibility exercises
• Breathwork to support physical and emotional releaseThese elements are not used as fixed methods, but adapted and combined based on what your body needs.
