Functional Bodywork Therapy

FAQ

1. What should I wear to a session?

Wear comfortable clothing that covers your body and allows free movement. Clean socks are required — they create the right surface for deeper work with your body and help your feet stay warm and relaxed, which supports better results. Sessions are done fully clothed — no need to undress.

2. How often do you recommend to do sessions?

For deeper, faster results, 2 sessions per week are ideal. For maintaining your progress, 1 session per week is sufficient. Less frequent sessions may slow down the process.

3. Is it painful?

This method works deeply to release tension and stored emotions from your body. You may feel discomfort or sensations of pain, because this is your body letting go of accumulated tension. It is always safe, and I adapt the depth of work to what you are ready for. You are always in control. It’s a powerful method, but never forced. After the release, most people experience a significant sense of relief, lightness, and freedom in their body.
If you are sensitive to pain or prefer a gentler experience, you can choose gentle mode, which progresses more slowly and gradually. Intensive mode accelerates results but may feel more intense. Even gentle mode may involve some discomfort, as the work engages deeply held tension.

4. Can I improve my posture and movement patterns?

Yes! Improving posture is one of the main goals. We work on alignment, balance, and movement awareness to help you move and hold your body more efficiently.

5. What if I am not really experienced in movement activities?

No prior experience is required. My method includes guided exercises, so even if you are new to movement, you will learn the exercises and gain experience along the way. Progress requires commitment to practice, but I will guide you every step.

6. Do you work with injuries?

Yes. I have extensive experience working in rehabilitation centers and with clients recovering from injuries, as well as my own personal rehabilitation journey. Sessions are tailored carefully to your condition. For acute injuries or medical concerns, please consult your doctor before booking.

7. Are there any contraindications?

Functional bodywork is safe for most people. However, there are a few cases when it might not be suitable:
• If you are not ready for changes and prefer to stay the same, this work will not be effective.
• Acute injuries or recent surgeries (please wait until you are cleared by your doctor).
• Serious medical conditions (such as uncontrolled heart disease or cancer treatment) — in such cases, please consult with your healthcare provider before starting.

8. How is this approach different from regular massage or physiotherapy?

This method combines bodywork, movement, and therapeutic techniques, focusing on releasing tension, improving posture, and enhancing functional movement, rather than just relaxation or symptomatic relief. It’s holistic, personalised, and goal-oriented.

9. How many sessions are usually needed to see results?

Many clients notice improvements in tension release, flexibility, and wellbeing after the first session. Long-term goals, such as significantly improving posture, achieving splits, or deep mobility, require consistent practice over months or years.

10. Do you work with chronic pain conditions?

Yes, I work with chronic tension and mild pain by releasing stored pain and improving body awareness, but this is wellness support, not medical treatment.

11. Can functional bodywork be combined with other treatments?

Absolutely. It complements other wellness therapies, fitness routines, and recovery programs.

12. Who can benefit from functional bodywork therapy?

Anyone seeking improved movement, flexibility, posture, tension release, or overall wellness can benefit, regardless of prior experience.

13. Do you provide exercises or homework after the session?

Yes. I provide exercises and movement guidance to support your progress and maintain improvements between sessions.

14. How do I know if this type of therapy is right for me?

If you are looking for deep, lasting change in your body – not just a quick fix – this method is right for you. It’s a strong and powerful process, but always adapted to your needs. Functional bodywork is only for those who are ready to change and leave their old patterns behind. If you are willing to commit to the process, even if you are unsure at first, this therapy can help you. I work only with people who take this process seriously.

15. Do you provide long-term programs or just one-off sessions?

Both options are available. You can choose single sessions or commit to a long-term program for deeper transformation.
